My name is Zachary Cantrell. I have wanted to work in the sports and media broadcasting arena for many years and I believe I can bring an energy, dedication and a knowledge of sports that will benefit your organization. I attended Bowling Green State University and I was a member of the Radio Sports Organization there. While there I hosted or co-hosted numerous sports radio shows along with a general information radio show which covered everything from sports to music. That last show was awarded the Best Radio Show of 2017. I called just about every sport that BGSU has to offer. From football to basketball to swimming, I have called them all as either a play by play person, an analyst or a sideline reporter. I was awarded Best Football Broadcaster of 2017 for my efforts. I have appeared on ESPN3 calling BGSU men’s and women’s basketball, women’s volleyball and men’s and women’s swimming and diving. When I wasn’t calling a game, I hosted halftime shows which consisted of analysis of the team play as well as providing scores and updates for all sports. I also did promos for the various shows and for the radio station. While there I also received my FM qualification so I am proficient at running the boards and working behind the scenes. I am more than willing to do what it takes, whether it is behind the scenes or in front of a microphone, to be a success in this business.
